Latest trends in automation engineering were presented in the event in Hamburg.

Orbita Ports&Terminals has become established as a reference in the sector when speaking about engineering and its application to automation in ports and terminals.

In TOC Europe 2016, an event that was held in Hamburg last 14-16 June and considered as the global meeting place for ports, terminals, shipping lines and shippers, Orbita’s presence involved a new vision of how automation can help brownfield and greenfield terminals to improve performance in their processes.

Crane operations are now being relevant to terminals to control the quay. Orbita’s response to that needs is a wide range of products called CraneSuite, which includes the CraneCCR system to capture container codes, CraneIMDG labels and door direction, together with CraneTPS for truck positioning and collision avoidance systems such as CraneBCA for boom-vessel anti collision.

Moreover, yard automation solutions, gate design, big data application to terminal CHE or how to make the most of the terminal information in terms of monitoring energy consumption are some examples of engineering applications that Orbita can provide.

It was a pleasure for Orbita’s team to meet our known clients and potential ones, we are willing to continue working to reinforce the trust in these long term relationships. For us, we are partners with a common objective: find new ways to boost efficiency in ports and terminals.

We would like to thank all the customers, attendants and publications for their time and interest. We are looking forward to the next opportunity to work together.
